Understanding the treatment

How Does It Work?

During your appointment at the clinic, Amy will take high-quality clinical images of your mole or moles. These images are then sent securely to a remote consultant dermatologist for expert review.

You will receive a full written report from the dermatologist with their findings and, where needed, recommendations for any further steps.

This service gives you access to specialist-level assessment without the long NHS waiting times or the cost of a full private hospital consultation.

Checking moles matters because early changes are the ones most worth catching. The dermatologist reviewing your images examines structures within the mole that are not visible to the naked eye, which is why professional clinical imaging is far more informative than a photo taken on a phone.

The service suits anyone in Ipswich or the wider Suffolk area who has noticed a new or changing mole, has a family history of skin cancer, or simply wants peace of mind without waiting for a referral. Nothing is diagnosed in-clinic: Amy's role is to capture high-quality images, and the assessment itself is always made by the consultant dermatologist.

Aftercare

No physical aftercare is needed, as nothing is removed or treated at an assessment appointment. Simply keep an eye on the mole while you wait for your report, and once it arrives, follow the recommendations it contains. If the dermatologist advises further investigation, we will help you understand the next steps, whether that is a GP visit, an NHS referral or a treatment option.

Who this service may not suit

A photographic assessment is not the right route for everything. If a mole is bleeding heavily, changing rapidly, or you have been advised by a doctor to seek urgent care, please see your GP or contact NHS 111 first. The service assesses specific moles rather than providing a full-body skin cancer screen. If you are unsure whether it fits your concern, contact the clinic and we will advise honestly.

Questions, answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Amy takes the clinical images at your appointment in the clinic. These are then sent securely to a remote consultant dermatologist, who carries out the full assessment and produces your written report. You benefit from specialist expertise without needing a hospital referral.
Yes. A full imaging report from the consultant dermatologist is included in the price. This will outline their findings and flag anything that may require further investigation.
You can have 1 mole assessed for £95, or up to 3 moles assessed for £165. If you have more than 3 moles of concern, please get in touch and we can discuss the best approach for you.
Rather than attending a full hospital or clinic consultation, Amy photographs your moles during your appointment and sends the images securely to a consultant dermatologist, who reviews them remotely. This makes the service faster, more convenient, and more affordable, while still delivering expert-level assessment.
If the dermatologist identifies anything that requires further action, the report will clearly state the recommended next steps. We will help guide you on what to do following your results.
Yes. Your privacy is always respected. Your images and report are handled securely and only shared with the consultant dermatologist as part of the assessment process.
A single mole assessment is £95, or up to three moles for £165, with clinical imaging and the consultant dermatologist's written report included in the price. There are no hidden extras.
Turnaround is quick compared with waiting for a referral. We will confirm the expected timeframe at your appointment and send your report to you as soon as it arrives.
Your GP is always an appropriate first step, and NHS care remains free. Our service exists for people who want specialist-level review quickly, without waiting. If your report recommends NHS follow-up, it gives your GP clear clinical information to act on.
The common guide is ABCDE: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Colour variation, Diameter over 6mm, and Evolving, meaning any change in size, shape, colour or sensation. Any mole that stands out from your others or is changing is worth getting assessed.
